The Caedmon School Discovery Camp is a travel based program dedicated to the discovery of the many wonders in and around the five boroughs of New York that make this an amazing and unique city. Trips are a cornerstone of The Caedmon Discovery Camp, but there are just as many fulfilling activities within the school as there are on the outside. All the divisions will participate in a full program at camp when they are not on a trip. The younger groups will have the culture of New York come to camp. A storyteller, an art workshop, and musical performers are just a few of the events the younger campers get to experience.
Once a week, the whole camp will participate in a special All-Camp Themed Event with fun-filled activities. These may include:
A comprehensive swim program, including both instructional and free swim, is part of the fun at Discovery Camp, at no extra charge. Swimming is offered off site two to three times a week to the Brooklyn Beavers (4 year olds) through the Queens Penguins (12 year olds). Rest assured safety is our number one priority. All swim staff are WSI trained and follow appropriate swim safety guidelines.
Each camper will be required to bring his or her own lunch and beverage (Monday – Thursdays). Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided. Please be advised that The Caedmon School Discovery Camp is “nut aware.”
To accommodate working parents, we offer supervised childcare after camp hours until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, at a cost of $15 per hour.
