As an accommodation to working families or those unable to make pick-up at 3:30, Caedmon offers two Extended Day options. Children will choose from two activities – Sports & Fitness or Crafts & Games – in a structured program that runs from 3:30 – 6:00 each day. Experienced instructors will guide the children through a variety of fun activities up until the time they are dismissed. Children in grades 1 – 5 will also have a quiet study time to devote to homework while attending the extended day program.
Families may pre-register in the summer and pay a $250 deposit or notify the school during the school day if their child will be a drop-in. Children may also attend Extended Day following or before an afterschool class, tutoring, or a music lesson. Please note that children who are not picked up within 10 minutes of their scheduled pick-up time will automatically be placed in Extended Day. The fee is $15 per hour.
As part of the afterschool schedule, Caedmon offers an academic enrichment program for students in 1st through 5th grade. Families can enroll their child to meet with a Caedmon teacher in one-on-one or small-group tutoring for 30 minutes in math or reading, or for a 60-minute ISEE prep class for 5th graders. All sessions meet once a week. Families can sign up during the afterschool registration period.
