"One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child"

Offered as a weekly after-school club activity, the Caedmon Chorus is open to elementary children grades 3-5 who have demonstrated a particular talent or interest in singing. They meet in the music room for one hour every Wednesday at 3:30pm. Led by the music teacher, they compile a holiday repertoire that is performed at The Junior League of New York and local senior centers. Their spring repertoire is also performed in many local venues. In addition, the Chorus is a frequent guest at school functions and alumni events and is usually featured in the school plays.
Caedmon-in-Motion is a performance and dance club open to all interested students in grades 2 through 5. It meets in two separate groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:40-4:40pm. In Caedmon-in-Motion, students learn contemporary dance routines from one of Caedmon's afterschool dance teachers. The students rehearse each week in preparation for special performances at various assemblies along with the winter and spring all-school shows. The students are encouraged to explore their creative talents by choreographing innovative dance routines in preparation for an annual spring recital.
