Everything you need to know to start the 2026–2027 school year!

The 2026-2027 School Year Is Almost Here!

We’re counting down the days until the schoolhouse is once again filled with our amazing students! Below, you’ll find everything you need to prepare for the start of the school year, from phase-in and required forms to important dates, the academic calendar, and more.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Caedmon and kicking off a wonderful year together!

Pikmykid: Caedmon uses Pikmykid for all dismissal and safety related procedures. All parents & caregivers must download this app and register prior to the start of the school year: Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Magnus Health: All student health forms for the 2026–2027 school year were due in Magnus on Monday, August 3. If you have not yet uploaded your child's required health forms to Magnus, please do so as soon as possible. Caedmon families can access their Magnus Health account by logging into the Caedmon Parent Portal, navigating to the Resources tab, and clicking on the Magnus Health button. As a reminder, children will not be permitted to attend school until all required health forms and documentation have been submitted and approved through Magnus Health.

Afterschool & Caedmon Music School Registration: Whether your child is exploring a new interest or developing an existing passion, there is something for every learner in Caedmon's Afterschool program and Caedmon Music School. We encourage families to register as early as possible, as some classes and lessons fill quickly. Register here!

Extended Day Registration: Extended Day provides a warm, engaging environment where students can unwind, play, connect with friends, and enjoy creative arts and crafts, collaborative activities, outdoor play, snacks, and plenty of fun. Extended Day is available from dismissal until 5:45 PM for children ages 2 and 3, and until 6:00 PM for students ages 4 through Fifth Grade. Caedmon's Annual Extended Day Program offers a reduced rate and includes one complimentary afterschool class.  Register for Annual Extended day here!

Early Childhood (Beginner, Early Program, and Kindergarten)

Phase-in, Separation, and Toilet Training Zoom: On Tuesday, September 1 from 8:00 to 8:45 AM, families are invited to join Associate Head of School and Director of Early Childhood Saniya Mehdi and Caedmon Psychologist Dr. Liz Ward for a Zoom discussion on phase-in, separation, and toilet training.

Strollers: Please note we do not have space to store strollers inside the schoolhouse. Small, foldable strollers may be left at the top of the front stairs and must be folded and placed to the side or hung on the designated hooks. Non-folding strollers may not be left at the top of the stairs and will be removed. For safety, all entrances and exits must remain clear. Caedmon is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to strollers left on school property.

Elementary (First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade)

Meet & Greets: These drop-in, 30-minute meetings will be held on Tuesday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 2 and are for families of children who are new to Caedmon. Returning students can request a Meet & Greet if desired. During these meetings, students, parents, and caregivers will come to the school to meet the teachers and see the classroom.

First Day Schedule: The first day of school is Tuesday, September 8. As is tradition, students, teachers, and staff will gather on the front steps at 8:20 AM to sing The Caedmon Song and formally kick-off the 2026-2027 school year! There will be an early dismissal at 11:30 AM for all Caedmon students. Starting Wednesday, September 9, regular school hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM will begin.

Early Morning Arrival: Beginning Tuesday, September 8, we are happy to offer Early Morning Arrival starting at 7:30 AM. This drop-in service is available to students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade and does not require advance registration.

Backpacks: Children are welcome to bring their own backpacks to school as long as they are a manageable size that can be carried independently.

Caedmon Family Association

Get Involved with the CFA: The Caedmon Family Association (CFA) plays an important role in creating the warm, welcoming community that makes our school so special. Volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with other families, make new friends, and become more involved in school life. Whether helping with a single event or taking on a larger role throughout the year, we'd love to have you join us. If you're interested in volunteering, please complete the CFA Volunteer Form. We also welcome your ideas and feedback through this as this brief CFA survey we plan for the year ahead.
