Preschool at The Caedmon School

Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, preschool at The Caedmon School is for children ages 1.8 through 4.11 years old and combines the Montessori method of education with other early childhood developmental techniques to foster confidence, creativity, and independence. The Caedmon School is NYC’s first Montessori school and has over sixty years of experience in academic excellence in preschool, kindergarten, and elementary education.

The Beginners Program

1.8 - 2.9 Years old
The Beginners Program at The Caedmon School is preschool for children who are one year, eight months through two years, nine months old. In small classes with 4:1 student-teacher ratio, teachers are able to provide all the special attention children of this age to prepare for their subsequent move to the Early Program.

Early Program

2.10 - 4.11 Years old
The Early Program at The Caedmon School is a two-year preschool program for children between two years, ten months through four years, eleven months old. Montessori materials, which address cognitive and sensory-motor development, are enhanced by more play-based activities to encourage social, creative, and emotional growth, preparing children for entering kindergarten.

Specialist Classes

Unique to The Caedmon School, specialist classes range from Yoga, Music, Movement, and Courtyard for our two and three year old students, to STEAM, Art, Yoga, Music, Movement, and Courtyard for our Early Program Four students. Classes are taught by a variety of teachers who are dedicated to and experts in their special subject matter.
