Our Montessori Food Preparation class  offers young children hands-on opportunities to explore independence, coordination, and practical life skills in a joyful and nurturing environment. Children engage in food preparation activities such as washing fruit, spreading, slicing soft foods, pouring, peeling, and mixing ingredients alongside a teacher. These experiences help develop fine motor skills, concentration, sequencing, and confidence while encouraging healthy eating habits and care for the classroom community. All the ingredients turn out just right in this junior food-making class. Children practice their executive functioning, fine-motor and gross-motor skills, as they mix, stir, dice, and blend a host of foods to produce delicious meals. Some of the fall menu highlights include pumpkin pie, cinnamon buns, and apple dumplings are just a few of the tasty treats your children will make. Bring your appetite for this one!

For those with a little more experience in the kitchen, this cooking class provides students the practice needed to become their own sous chefs. Students do all the mixing, chopping, rolling, and seasoning as they prepare a variety of delicious meals, snacks, and beverages. In addition to taking home their creations, children get to sample their food in class while developing design skills and etiquette. Some of the menu highlights include potato latkes, baked lasagna, and Irish
soda bread.

Book Making (Early Program – 2nd Grade)

Film Making (3rd Grade – 5th Grade)

They will learn about different types of shots, how to make a scene spatially clear, and how to maintain the flow of an action from one shot to the next. We’ve all heard of the dinosaurs, but what about the pterosaurs? These are the first known species to take flight and they filled the skies during the Mesozoic era. This hands-on, interactive class identifies which animals lived during which time periods and what the true world of the extinct animals was like. Your child spends the fall as a young doctor. Week 1 they get their own stethoscope and learn to find their partner's heartbeat. Week 2 they use an otoscope to look inside an ear. By week 5 they're diagnosing case studies — "the patient has a cough, a fever, and a rash, what's the plan?" — using real anatomy models, reflex hammers, and X-ray light boards. They finish the fall able to explain how the body fights a cold, why a broken bone heals stronger, and what a doctor is actually listening for.

Along the way, students will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the basic formats, musical skills, and performance techniques used in today’s (and yesterday’s) rock n roll and pop music genres. The class will culminate in a chance to bring down the house with a rockin’ group performance at the Caedmon Music School recital. This class will run in two sections : one section for students who are just dipping their toes into the rock n roll pool, and a second section for those who have had a bit of experience rocking out on their instrument. So, if your child digs slamming the drums, shredding the guitar, or belting those notes out to the rafters, then it’s time to plug into the Caedmon rock band and turn it up to 11! 

All piano, guitar, drum and voice students are welcome. Must have two years of private lessons experience.
